(Lisbon).- September once again puts face-to-face interaction at the centre of the iGaming calendar. Argentina recently welcomed the industry to G&M Events, while at the end of the month, professionals from across international markets will gather in Lisbon for SBC Summit.

Beyond Networking: Why Face-to-Face Connection Still Matters in an Always-Online Industry

At the same time, workplace wellbeing is increasingly moving beyond conversations about exercise, nutrition and sleep. Social connection—and the role that real-world interaction can play in wellbeing—deserves a place in that discussion too.

For an industry built around digital platforms and distributed teams, this raises an interesting question: does being constantly connected necessarily mean feeling connected?

When Stepping Away From the Screen Adds Value

Telegram, Teams, Slack, video calls and email allow iGaming businesses to operate across markets and time zones. But face-to-face meetings create a different dynamic.

A conversation over coffee, a walk between meetings or time spent with colleagues outside the usual working environment can strengthen relationships that may otherwise exist almost entirely online.

Movement Creates Another Kind of Networking

Physical activity adds another dimension. Sport combines movement and social interaction while creating a less formal environment for professional relationships to develop.

That idea sits behind Timeless Passion, Timeless Tech's initiative for bringing the iGaming community together through shared experiences beyond the exhibition floor.

During SBC Summit Lisbon, Timeless Tech will host the third edition of the Timeless Passion Padel Tournament, creating an opportunity for industry professionals to move, enjoy some friendly competition and connect outside the usual cycle of meetings and presentations.

Wellbeing Without Romanticising Event Season

Exhibitions still mean flights, long working days, late dinners and disrupted routines. They are not automatically good for wellbeing.

The opportunity lies in making more room for the elements that can be: walking, meaningful conversations, shared experiences, sport and occasional time away from screens.

For an international industry that operates increasingly online, maintaining the human side of professional relationships remains important.

Timeless Tech explores this perspective in its latest Healthy Lifestyle article—and puts the principle into practice through initiatives such as Timeless Passion.
