(United States).- Atlantic City’s top earning casino Borgata hotel and casino will invest $10m on updating its slot floor to make sure the property has ‘best in class’ on its gaming floor.

Borgata to invest $10M on new slots

Travis Lunn, the new President and COO of the MGM Resorts casino, said there would also be a revamp of its hotel room as it reacts to competition from new casinos in the city.

Talking to the Associated Press, he said: “A rising tide carries all ships; I’m a believer in that. This destination could use some reinvestment, and so to see Hard Rock come in and reinvest, and Ocean reinvest in their product, is something I’d leverage.”

“There’s capital available for us to reinvest in our product. Part of what I see my job as is to go fight for those dollars. I already have $10m that I intend on spending on the slot floor to update the product that we have available. Our guests come in looking for a certain gaming experience, and we currently don’t offer some of the products that our competitors offer.”

The gaming floor boasts 4,000 slot machines, 180 table games and 50 poker tables and a BetMGM Sportsbook & Bar.

"Revenues from Atlantic City’s nine casinos increased by nearly 15 per cent in January compared to a year earlier giving ‘cause for even more optimism as the spring season approaches.'
