(Cedar Rapids).- Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center will open to the public on November 19, six weeks ahead of its previously scheduled December 31 launch. The US$275 million development along the Cedar River will bring a new gaming and entertainment destination to Iowa, combining casino operations, dining, live performances and cultural facilities.
Cedar Crossing Casino Advances Opening Date
The casino’s opening has been moved forward as construction and preparations progress toward the launch. The property had initially been scheduled to welcome visitors on December 31.
“I’m proud of our team and what they’ve accomplished to bring Cedar Crossing to this point,” said Aaron Gomes, president of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone on November 19.”
Additional information about opening-day activities is expected to be announced at a later date.
Grand Opening to Feature Old Dominion Concert
Entertainment lineup includes music and comedy
Although the casino will begin operating on November 19, its official grand opening is scheduled for December 5, featuring a sold-out concert by country music band Old Dominion.
The entertainment program will also include performances by Foghat, Steve-O, Josh Blue, Hinder, Piff the Magic Dragon, Eli Young Band, Switchfoot, KC Bruner and Maddie Poppe, The Commodores and Trace Adkins.
The lineup positions live entertainment as a central component of the development, alongside its gaming offering and hospitality facilities.
US$275 Million Development Combines Gaming and Dining
The 110,000-square-foot Cedar Crossing complex is being developed along the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids. In addition to the casino, the property will feature a 1,500-person entertainment venue, restaurants and an Arts and Cultural Center.
Among its dining options is the Clubhouse by Zach Johnson, adding another component to the destination’s hospitality offering.
The project is designed to combine gaming, food and beverage, live events and cultural activities within a single venue, broadening its appeal beyond casino visitors.
Casino to Support Local Nonprofit Organizations
Cedar Crossing Casino has stated that it will contribute 8% of its net adjusted gross revenue to the Linn County Gaming Association. The funds will support nonprofit organizations across the Corridor region.
The commitment establishes a financial link between the casino’s future gaming revenue and local community initiatives.
With its November 19 opening date confirmed, Cedar Crossing is preparing to introduce its gaming and entertainment facilities ahead of the original schedule, while the December 5 grand opening will mark the next milestone for the Iowa development.
