Chilean Superintendence certifies new casino in Chillan and authorizes its operations

(Chile).- The Undersecretary of Finance and President of the Resolute Council of the Casino Superintendence, Francisco Moreno Guzmán, together with the Superintendent of the sector, Manuel Zárate Campos, granted the certificate that authorizes Marina del Sol Chillán society to start operating the casino located in Chillan council, on Ñuble Region, as well as part of the rest of the complementary work that comprises the integral project.
At the inauguration ceremony, that also counted with the assistance of several regional and local authorities, Moreno Guzman remarked: "With the operation of Casino Marina del Sol de Chillán, more than 500 direct and indirect employments were created in the region, which means a direct contribution to improve the quality of life of employees and their families."
The activity was performed after the Syperintendence, through a resolution on July 29, 2019, approved the corrections that the operating society made with regard to the previous observations, within the stage of the verification of the project.
Such stage seeks to care for the strict compliance of the conditions involved in the casino project and its complementary work, which was authorized by the Resolute Council of the Superintendence in September 2016.
With the new casino-which is authorized to start operations from August 1st and for a 15-year period, Chillan Local Council and the Regional Ñuble Government will be benefited with the collection of the specific tax, equivalent to 20% of the gross gaming income, of which half of it is allocated to the local council in which the casino is located, and the other half to the regional government to fund construction work.
During the Verification Stage of Compliancce of the Project, it was checked that, among other aspects, all the games of chance machines are new, its instructions are in Spanish and guarantee a percentage of return no less than 85% of the total of the combinations of possible plays.
The integral project, comprised by the casino and the rest of the construction work, involves a $ 34.838 million investment and considers a construction area of 28.973,8 sqm.
The casino of Chillan, added to other 18 casinos in operation that have been authorized due to Law N° 19.995, in which there are located the councils of Arica, Antofagasta, Calama, Copiapó, Ovalle, San Antonio, Rinconada, Santa Cruz, Mostazal, Talca, Talcahuano, Los Ángeles, Temuco, Valdivia, Osorno, Castro, Coyhaique and Punta Arenas.

The casino counts with 450 slots, 20 table games and 68 bingo positions, on top of a restaurant, bar, cafeteria, a living room, a show room and exchange of foreign currency.
