(Uruguay).- Uruguayan firm Julio César Lestido S.A. (dedicated to the sale of trucks) demanded Baluma, a society through which the casino operator manages the hotel Enjoy Punta del Este in Uruguay. An action for damages is around US$ 8 million.
Enjoy informed, in its report of results in June, that the demand says that an officer from Julio César Lestido S.A. would have taken money that was spent on the casino.
"The claimant alleges that Baluma S.A. is responsible for the damages for having behaviour tending to induce gambling in people that did not have the proper conditions to obtain, in a licit way, sums of money that they spent at the Hotel and Casino," Enjoy affirmed. "According to our lawyers, they estimate that there is little chance that the venue will be chaged for this demand," he added.
