(Las Vegas).- The Las Vegas Strip continues to evolve with several new developments and renovations underway on the 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard. Casino operators are hoping a fresh look on the Strip, whether it's a brand-new casino hotel or an extensive renovation, will draw more crowds in the months and years ahead.

Las Vegas Strip casino reveals $300 million hotel project

The Strip has faced a lengthy losing streak lately that it wants to quickly break after monthly gaming revenues dropped five straight months from July 2024 through November 2024, according to Nevada Gaming Control Board data.

Good news is on the way for the Strip as some facelifts will be completed and ready for reservations in the next couple of months.

The historic Tropicana Casino & Resort closed in April 2024 and was imploded on Oct. 9, 2024, to make way for the development of a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat baseball stadium for Major League Baseball's Athletics that's supposed to begin construction in April 2025.

The site will also feature a new resort hotel-casino built by Bally's Corp.

The Mirage resort casino on the Strip closed on July 17, 2024, and will be replaced by a Hard Rock International Guitar Hotel, which the owners are planning to open in 2027.

Apollo Global Management's Venetian Resort Las Vegas earlier this year launched a $1.5 billion renovation of the 4,000 all-suite Venetian towers and the resort's casino.

The renovation will include a $188 million overhaul of its expo center. The upgrades should be completed by September 2025.

MGM Grand launches $300 million remodeling

Finally, the iconic Las Vegas Strip resort MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has revealed a $300 million remodel of all 4,212 rooms and suites in its main tower. While the whole project is slated for completion in December 2025, the first phase of the main tower's newly remodeled rooms will be available for reservations beginning March 1, 2025.
