(Las Vegas).- The Summerlin-area resort is finalizing a multiyear, property-wide transformation. With upgraded gaming spaces, new dining options, and modernized rooms, the Suncoast is set to celebrate its fresh, vibrant look on September 29, 2026.
The Suncoast Hotel and Casino is putting the finishing touches on a massive modernization effort, gearing up for a grand reopening event on September 29, 2026. Although the Boyd Gaming property originally opened its doors in 2000, this comprehensive makeover leaves the destination feeling like a completely brand-new resort.
Major Enhancements Across the Resort
The extensive overhaul, which tackled the vast majority of the property, encompasses several key upgrades:
Relocated Bingo Hall: Now situated on the ground floor, this modernized space boasts seating for more than 400 guests under a striking large chandelier.
Revamped Sportsbook: Sports fans can now enjoy premium leather seating and a massive, continuous wraparound video screen.
Expanded Dining: A newly introduced food hall offers quick-service favorites like Huey Magoo's and Steak 'n Shake. Additionally, a new Starbucks features designated parking specifically for mobile pickup orders.
Room Makeovers: The ongoing hotel room remodeling is slated to wrap up by the close of the year.
A Brighter Future for Casino Design
The phased renovation project originally kicked off in late 2023 with the debut of a new high-limit slot area. Discussing the motivation behind the sweeping changes, Boyd Gaming spokesperson David Strow emphasized the need for a fresh aesthetic while touring the updated floor.
“It’s a top to bottom modernization of the entire property,” Strow noted. “The design had just become out of date. It was a darker design and we wanted to open it up and make it lighter.”
Highlighting the current trends in the industry, he added, “Brighter, lighter — that’s the direction that casino design is heading. ”
