(Las Vegas).- The agreement seeks to automate MGM Resorts' network to enhance guest engagement in gaming and hospitality.
Cisco and MGM Resorts International have announced a multi-year whole portfolio agreement (WPA) that will provide MGM Resorts with access to the majority of Cisco’s software portfolio.
This includes cybersecurity, software-defined networking, software-defined WAN [wide area network], digital experience assurance, full-stack observability, data centre and services.
The agreement spans five-and-a-half years, benefitting guests and employees across all MGM Resorts properties.
The agreement aims to automate MGM Resorts’ gaming and hospitality network, paving the way for future location services and next-generation machine learning applications, unlocking new channels of guest engagement.
Additionally, Cisco technology will ensure uptime and security, essential for delivering exceptional guest experiences in its round-the-clock operations.
MGM Resorts International chief technology officer Branden Newman said: “Guests expect world-class hospitality from MGM Resorts, and technology helps us deliver.”
“The new agreement with Cisco will give our employees the technology, speed and agility they need as we continue to deliver amazing guest experiences at all MGM Resorts’ destinations.”
The WPA will ensure that employees of MGM Resorts have safe and reliable access to all the digital tools and applications they need to do their jobs. This will support continuous improvement and innovation within the business.
Additionally, the deployment aligns with MGM Resorts’ sustainability goals, as Cisco’s portfolio helps reduce emissions, enhance resource efficiency, and promote more circular business models.
Cisco chief executive vice-president and financial officer Scott Herren said: “At Cisco, we securely connect everything to make anything possible.”
“We are excited to continue our partnership with MGM Resorts in this next phase of their digital transformation. With decades of technology and expertise, Cisco aims to help MGM Resorts navigate into the future and simplify processes to drive innovation at scale.”
