(Macau).- Health authorities have announced today (Tuesday) that starting from midnight of March 3 the requirement of negative nucleic acid test to enter gaming areas and casinos will be scrapped.

Negative nucleic acid test requirement for entry in casinos removed in Macau

The requirement had been in force since July, 2020 for residents and non-residents.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre considered the measure wasn’t required anymore since currently, all individuals from Mainland China arriving in Macau must have a negative nucleic acid test report valid for the last seven days, while the pandemic risk in the mainland has greatly reduced since mid-February with no regions in the country defined as medium or high incidence for at least 10 consecutive days with local transmissions for 24 consecutive days.

However every casino will have to continue to strictly implement other anti-pandemic measures in force, including the verification of the Health Code, use of masks, separating barriers between players and social distancing, the centre noted.
