(Las Vegas).- Circa Las Vegas announced it will open its gaming floor Oct. 28 on the same day Caesars announced the reopening of Planet Hollywood. Las Vegas’ newest casino will open a few months ahead of schedule and allow patrons to gamble on its gaming floor at the end of next month.
Circa Las Vegas was originally scheduled to open this December, but after the Nevada Gaming Commission granted a gaming license to the Downtown area casino at the end of last week, the property will open Oct. 28.
The Stevens brothers-owned casino will be the first Fremont Street casino to be built from the ground up since 1980. The brothers also own The D and Golden Gates Casinos, both of which are also located Downtown.
When plans for the casino were first announced in January 2019, the highlights included the world’s biggest sportsbook and a 44-story hotel tower. Last June, ownership announced that it would be an adult-only property and extend the 21+ age restriction to the entire property, not just the gaming floor.
According to a report from the Las Vegas Sun, Circa will add 1,500 jobs to the struggling Las Vegas economy.
“We’ve seen that more and more people are coming to Las Vegas,” co-owner Derek Stevens told the outlet. “The fact that we can bring some good news and some excitement, that has me the most excited right now.”
While the gaming area will open just before Halloween, the hotel won’t open for business until later.
On the same day that Circa announced its opening date, Caesars Entertainment announced that it would reopen another Las Vegas Strip property. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will open its doors on Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.
The hotel will only accept reservations Thursday through Sunday, but the gaming floor will be open 24/7. The property will adhere to the same restrictions as other Las Vegas casinos to ensure a safe gaming environment during the pandemic.
