Parq Vancouver opens in Canada nearly a decade after planning began

You can find the highly anticipated new casino resort in British Columbia, near False Creek and the B.C. Place Stadium. Parq Holdings Limited Partnership are calling the new private development the “largest” in the region.

Not only is it the largest, but Parq Vancouver is also billed to be game changing. Scott Menke – the co-founder of Paragon Gaming – has said that the area will be different following the resort’s opening, and that customers seeking to spend time in the new stadium will have what he calls an “elevated experience.”

The Parq Vancouver resort is truly something different; with external mirrors and a distinct shape, and spanning a massive 775,000 square feet, the new addition to the city’s skyline is sure to stun.

The resort also boasts two high-end hotels, both of which are owned by Marriott. One of these, the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, has more than 280 rooms, 47 suites – three of which are luxury – and a two-storey villa.

Other facilities in the hotel include a fitness studio and a spa.

The other hotel at the resort – the Douglass – boasts 178 rooms, 10 suites, and a lobby bar. The hotels also have an outdoor park spanning 30,000 square feet – which connects the two.

Customers staying at the newly opened Parq Vancouver will have direct access to Edgewater Casino, which has recently been relocated to within the resort’s second and third floors.

This gambling facility is the only one in Vancouver specifically designed and built to let in natural light; the second and third floors both have floor-to-ceiling windows.

Many games are playable at Parq Vancouver casino resort, including baccarat, craps, roulette, blackjack, and poker, all spread across 75 gaming tables. There also around 600 slots – all useable for a minimum price-per-spin of a penny – a dedicated poker room, and 11 VIP gaming salons.

Restaurants offering Chinese food, steak, seafood, organic food, and Singaporean cuisine are also located within the resort, as well as bars that offer both whiskey and tea.

Groups can host conferences there – that is, in the 62,000-square-feet meeting space – and there are also more than 10 ballrooms.

This is an impressive feat, and even more impressive is the fact that the casino resort will donate $1.5 million to St. Pauls Hospital Foundation, in an effort to fund the treatment of addiction-related disorders.
