Providing an update on its enhancement program as part of its 2025 results release overnight, SJM confirmed that it had in November launched new gaming space at Hotel Lisboa’s Crystal Palace in November, utilizing gaming tables and machines relocated from recently shuttered satellite casinos.

The new space was acquired from parent company STDM last year as part of a HK$529 million (US$68 million) deal.

SJM, which also acquired former satellite casino L’Arc last year in order to maintain a strong presence on the Macau peninsula, revealed Thursday that a second phase of the acquired gaming space at Hotel Lisboa is scheduled for opening by mid-2026 and the remaining portion by the end of this year.

It added that both Grand Lisboa and Hotel Lisboa are undergoing major upgrades through a phased and coordinated program, with more than 400 newly refurbished rooms at Hotel Lisboa to be introduced in the second half of 2026, aligning with the full opening of Crystal Palace.

Grand Lisboa is similarly advancing its room inventory expansion, alongside the addition of three new self-managed restaurants and the refurbishment of the Grand Ballroom, which was recently completed.

“These developments deepened integration across the Lisboa footprint, further expanded the Group’s operational scale within the downtown entertainment cluster, and strengthened its ability to serve geocentrically loyal customers,” SJM said.

“All Peninsula properties carried positive momentum into 2026, successfully retaining a meaningful portion of customers previously served by former satellite casinos, while maintaining strict adherence to disciplined reinvestment and cost management practices.”

SJM also confirmed that its Cotai integrated resort, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (GLP), has increased table capacity following the satellite transitions including the introduction of new gaming areas such as the Sky Phoenix West Tower VIP area and the conversion of Dragon Pavilion to support premium mass operations.

Further upgrade works across the main gaming floor and hotel offerings will be implemented in phases throughout 2026, the company said, aimed at “optimizing product mix, improving floor efficiency and enhancing the overall customer experience”.
