(United States).- The next Sony console may be announced in February 2020 and released a few months later. The updated hardware could make a huge difference.

PlayStation 5 is taking shape

Let’s talk about dates first. An intern PlayStation marketing mail was leaked in which a “PlayStation meeting” was mentioned. This event would occur on February 12 and mark the official PS5 presentation to the entire world. PS4 was first presented on February 2013 and then released on November, so this information makes sense.

Regarding the technical information, we already knew that this console would be backwards compatible with PS4 games and PS virtual reality, include a cd reader and utilize AMD technology. Now we also know that, according to well-known hardware information provider Komachi, the GPU (graphics processing unit) could run at 2ghz clock speed, which would similar to a modern PC and twice as fast compared to an Xbox One X. Crytek studio, known for the CryEngine graphic motor, anticipated that “the real game changer will certainly be the new fast storage that has been promised”.

There’s been some concern about the possible price. A logic concern due to the new and expensive hardware that the PS5 will be equipped with. However, Mark Cerny, head architect of the PS5, said that the price will “appeal to gamers”.
