(Sao Paulo, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Following the recent launch of its Brazilian license, 1xBet used BiS Sigma South America to strengthen its presence in the region and connect with key stakeholders across Latin America. Strategic Advisor Simon Westbury described the exhibition as highly engaging, highlighting both the opportunities generated on the show floor and the regulatory challenges that lie ahead for Brazil and the wider continent.

Networking and Expansion Across LatAm

“We were motivated to attend BiS Sigma South America, to continue the momentum we created earlier in March about our Brazilian license and launching into the market. Additionally, the show reaches beyond Brazil, so this offered us an opportunity to meet with stakeholders across different countries in LatAm where we are regulated,” said Simon Westbury.

 1xBet: Engaging experience in Brazil

He then described his experience as exhibitors as “engaging”. “The show floor was busy, but busy does not equal success. The exhibition managed to ensure that all the right people from the continent were all in one place, so the discussions were engaging and free flowing”.

With regard to the opportunities and contacts generated at the event, he said: “As an operator of the size of 1xBet, everyone always wants to talk to us. So the whole gaming ecosystem, from sportsbook and casino suppliers, certification houses, KYC, payment providers and regulators were all under one roof and we were able to engage with them all.”

Regulatory Challenges and Regional Opportunities

“I think we are entering a new stage in the Brazilian market, where the honeymoon period of regulation could be coming to an end. There were lots of rumours, maybe gossip on the show floor about where the market is heading. To me we need to ensure that regulation is not just about taxation solely and that player protection is put at the forefront of the evolving regulatory market in Brazil. Additionally, we need to ensure that the regulated market is not put at a major disadvantage against the offshore market to ensure that players stay a safe regulated environment. I think these challenges do not just occur in Brazil but across the continent as a whole”, he concluded.
