A Latin American Gaming Network is born: GAT Expo CDMX seals historic alliance between associations

"Today is a historic day: The Latin American Network of Games of Success and Gambling is born. It is a space of trust and brotherhood to share information and build common visions. It is a space that recognizes the particularities of each country but where visions and paths are shared in one single cause." says Evert Montero Cárdenas, from Fecoljuegos,

After thanking all the associations, he highlights the following: “The game, when it is legal, responsible and regulated, is a source of social well-being”.

The president of the Asociación Paraguaya de Operadores de Juegos de Azar (APOJA), Lorena Rojas, states that the greatest scourge is the illegal game. "We changed the law and we regulate the online game. The private sector has had a very important participation in the fight against the illegal game. Today Paraguay does not have a monopoly on sports matches, nor on Thursday. Today, next week, the auction is called. We applaud this way of being able to relate to share the achievements and not repeat the mistakes in them countries in the region”.

Fernando Calderón, President of the Sociedad Nacional de Juegos de Azar de Perú (SONAJA) speaks about the 27 years of the association and the changes that took place during legislation both for land based and online. He highlighted the importance of union representation to propose and participate in issues related to laws and taxes, to be listened to and to be present in decision-making places.

Elizabeth Maya Cano, President of CORNAZAR, an association that represents gambling entrepreneurs in Colombia. "The work of the trade unions is very important. They have a huge commitment, which is to listen to businesspeople day after day and be a communication channel to be able to reach these places and institutions, to reach these special moments where a voice is required to listen and represent them." Then she adds: “In Cornazar, for 11 yeats we have continued together and united working after legality”.

While these institutional ties are being strengthened, today the trade show continues with a vibrant exhibition of technological innovations, where national and international companies present their latest solutions for casinos, online gambling and digital entertainment.
