A talk about marketing and responsible gaming took place at GAT Virtual Expo

Carlos Carrión Director, Product & Marketing - LATAM at Aristocrat, Ana María Padrós, Founder and owner of Team Seven and regional Marketing Consultant Perú, Leonardo Desentis, Leonardo Desentis, Codere Marketing Director for Mexico, Panama and Colombia. Regulator: Fernando Saffores.

Carlos Carrión said: How we define responsible gaming is the perfect question," and talked about the situation in Aristocrat.

"To promote responsible gambling, you also have to do it internally, not encourage people inside or outside the company to gamble more than normal." He then added: "Maintaining an entertainment product while maintaining our accountable gaming policy is very important. The three pillars at Aristocrat are: compliance with (rules), empowering (sharing information with players and employees), improving (promoting responsible gaming)" .

When consulted about key actions that manufacturers and operators should develop, Ana María Padrós said that emphasis should be placed on communicating what responsible gaming represents, both b2b and b2c. "Full compliance with industry regulations is another regulation that would be convenient," he added.

Then, Leonardo Desentis was asked if it is possible to have high-impact advertising while respecting responsible gaming guidelines, to which he replied: "Yes, of course. We are obliged and also marketing is to challenge creativity and cause a healthy stimulus. You have to use the right language and the necessary channels. "

Regarding the recommendations for Latin America on responsible gaming marketing, Carrión stated that a responsible gaming policy must be created within the company, and stressed the importance of communicating their actions.

"We must change, inform people about how this industry works with its rules and regulations. For that we need the support of regulators and manufacturers," he added.

Padrós and Desentis agreed with Carrión that there is a lot of misinformation regarding responsible gambling in games of chance.

Carrión: "Responsible gambling campaigns must target all clients, companies, employees and society in general."

Padrós added that in Peru they have already started the responsible gambling campaign. "The bottom line is that you don't have to do things out of obligation. It's a matter of responsibility, self-control and the desire to move forward."

Desentis concluded: "We have to self-regulate. If we do it well, we will do well."
