(Douglas).- Reliability and scalability are essential in any business — and the iGaming industry is no exception. In today’s digital era, DevOps has become a key driver for operators striving to excel in performance and innovation.
This crucial topic will take the spotlight at the eighth edition of Malta Tech Talks, hosted by Altenar.
The event, held at Altenar’s offices, regularly brings together members of Malta’s IT community. This special edition, entirely dedicated to DevOps, is set to take place on October 9. The program includes several in-depth presentations by Altenar’s DevOps experts:
6:30–6:40 p.m. – Alex Movergan, DevOps Automation Manager, introduces the session with *“Why Malta Needs a DevOps Special Meetup.”
6:40–7:20 p.m. – Nikolay Ankin, SRE Enablement Lead Engineer, discusses *“How’s Your Product Doing? Maybe It’s Time for SRE?”
7:30–8:10 p.m. – Valerii Kretinin, Automation DevOps Engineer, presents *“AirFlow: From Cron Chaos to Harmony.”
8:10–8:50 p.m. – Artem Davydov, DevOps Automation Core Team Leader, concludes with *“From Spray to Play: Our Journey to Cluster API.”
Ahead of the event, Alex Movergan shared insights into the importance of collaboration, community, and continuous improvement within the tech space.
According to Movergan, Altenar places a strong emphasis on open-source development, both by utilizing open-source tools and by contributing to projects and communities. The company’s active participation in conferences helps it stay at the forefront of technological innovation. Supporting the broader tech ecosystem, he explained, is essential to advancing the industry as a whole.
When discussing the relevance of DevOps, Movergan highlighted how it was originally conceived to eliminate the divide between development and operations. While many automation challenges have already been addressed, his team now focuses on enhancing automation efficiency and improving both user and developer experiences.
Reflecting on Altenar’s growth, Movergan noted that when he first joined, the company had just 60 employees and a two-person DevOps team. Today, Altenar has over 700 employees, with a 20-member DevOps team spread across the globe. This evolution underscores the need to constantly adapt tools, processes, and culture as the company scales.
Movergan added that what he looks forward to most at Malta Tech Talks is the exchange of ideas that happens beyond the formal presentations. He believes that the most valuable moments come from conversations and feedback shared among attendees, fostering collaboration within Malta’s close-knit IT community.
He concluded by expressing his hope that discussions sparked at Malta Tech Talks will continue beyond the event, inspiring ongoing innovation and knowledge sharing among the island’s tech professionals.
