(Brussels).- Join Dr. Ekaterina Hartmann, EGBA’s Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, for an anti-money laundering (AML) masterclass focused on preparing Europe’s gambling operators for upcoming regulatory changes under the EU’s new Anti-Money Laundering rulebook, which includes the newly created EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA).
The webinar “Preparing for the AMLA era: What gambling stakeholders must know about the new AML package and beyond in times of increased enforcement” took place last month and attracted industry professionals from across Europe seeking guidance on navigating the region’s evolving AML compliance landscape.
The session, hosted in partnership with the Eastern European Gaming Summit (EEGS), covered essential topics including the latest AML regulatory developments, best practices, and practical compliance strategies for gambling operators.

EGBA continues to support the industry through its comprehensive pan-European AML guidelines, specifically designed for online gambling operators. These guidelines, available to both members and non-members, represent industry best practices and demonstrate EGBA’s commitment to maintaining the highest compliance standards in Europe’s fight against financial crime.
In July 2025, EGBA members completed the second annual reporting process for the AML guidelines, reinforcing our shared commitment to achieving high standards in AML compliance. This process helps ensure the guidelines remain effective and comprehensive, and to identify areas where updates to the guidelines may be needed to address emerging challenges and maintain industry-leading standards.
“Together, we’re aiming to raise the bar for AML compliance standards across our members and, by example, influence other operators across the industry to do the same. We encourage operators who aren’t members of EGBA to join this initiative and help strengthen the sector’s contribution to the fight against financial crime,” added Dr Hartmann.
