(Colombia, SoloAzar Exclusive).- José Aníbal Aguirre, Director of FADJA, spoke exclusively with SoloAzar at the end of the 20th of the show, which took place last week in Bogotá.
What were the highlights in this edition of the twentieth anniversary of FAJDA?
I would say that the recovery of the confidence of the exhibitors against the change of venue last year, the level of the construction of the stands, the level of the visiting public, the participation of sports betting operators on the Internet, both those that already have license as those who want to obtain one. We have found an edition of the fair that, on its twentieth anniversary, has a particularity: the Colombian industry already feels a step towards the future. We have seen that the land-based, traditional casino machines, are a bit reduced and what predominates is the issue of online sports betting. I think that is what is important about the fair, in this process in which the industry is, and FADJA is like a starting point of that new era that arrives in Colombia.
What response did you receive from exhibitors and visitors?
The truth is that they are very happy; they feel very comfortable here in Corferias, a very professional venue for the development of their business, and in this way, we are fulfilling on our birthday with offering our exhibitors and visitors the best level and the best quality in a fairground. I think that has been noticed in all the stands. Everyone has been very comfortable and happy with their participation in FADJA this year.
Operators from which countries visited the fair this year?
Within Latin America, we have been visited by operators from nearby countries such as Peru and Ecuador, which seems to be opening the law again. Some Venezuelans and Central Americans have also been present here. The regulator of Argentina came from the Lottery of the Province of Buenos Aires. We have had illustrious visitors like them, and above all, operators who want to put a betting point online, a sportbook, in their premises, and I think that is what has guaranteed that the results for sports betting companies that have a stand.
What will be the date for next year?
We do not have it yet, but it will always be in April.
What are the next shows for 3A Productions?
GOL Expo, to be held in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima, Peru, September 25 and 26, at the María Angola Convention Center.
We did this year Online Gaming Show in Cartagena, Colombia, with a very promising result in two or three months, and people have asked us that this small show format with some networking and entertainment was repeated in countries where there is some interest in the issue of online betting, and for that reason is that we modified the brand a bit, which is no longer called Online Gaming Expo but GOL Expo (Gaming Online) and is a format like the one we did in Cartagena, but in Lima.
What we intend with the brand is to take it internationally to different countries: GOL Expo Colombia, GOL Expo Peru, GOL Expo Paraguay, let's see how far we can go.
