The program will also address strategies to combat offshore supply and recover market for licensed operators, in addition to fraud prevention, AML/CFT and the evolution of new formats such as prediction betting and sweepstakes.

A regulated market in the face of the advance of offshore

The founder of Gaming in Spain, Willem van Oort, highlighted the participation of representatives from different sectors of the ecosystem.

"I am very happy that we have managed to bring together so many key players, representing the regulator, licensed operators, suppliers and even the Spanish National Police."

Van Oort noted that the goal is to generate discussions that contribute to the long-term sustainability of regulated gambling, especially in the face of the growth of unauthorized and offshore competition.

"Recovering the market requires cooperation and shared knowledge," he said.

An agenda with industry leaders

The first part of the programme will be dedicated to regulatory developments, with a keynote speech by Mikel Arana, director general of the DGOJ, as well as interventions by Xavi Muñoz Bellvehí, Justo Sancho, Sander Hoogendoorn, Camille Gonzálvez and Patricia Lalanda.

Another block will analyse the Spanish market and the threat of illegal gambling, with the participation of Josh Hodgson, from H2 Gambling Capital; Dmitry Belianin, from Blask Business Intelligence; Björn Fuchs, from VNLOK; and Mauro De Fabritiis, from MDF Partners.

Problem gambling detection and player protection will be supported by BetBlocker's Pedro Romero and Mindway AI's Paula Murphy.

For his part, Jorge Hinojosa, CEO of Jdigital, will present the industry's perspective on sustainable regulatory reform.

Fraud, AML and new technologies

Fraud prevention and regulatory compliance will have a specific block with David Calvete Sarasa, chief inspector of the National Police, while Pedro López Martín-Andino and Jochen Biewer will analyse the practical impact of the new European regulation on AML/CFT.

The conference will also focus on technology and new products. Among the planned sessions are the development of an AI-powered live casino, new betting and gaming formats, the use of artificial intelligence in affiliate marketing, and regulation-compliant payment solutions.
