(Bogotá D.C).- GAT Esports Academy will be a summit event in the activity of electronic sports in Colombia and Latin America. The forum, proposed by Gaming & Technology Expo, will bring together today in Bogotá between 9 am and 5 pm, Olympic sports authorities, academics, scientists, experts, leading journalists and gamer communities to discuss and share knowledge about the present and future of Esports and its recent inclusion as an Olympic sports discipline in Paris 2024.

Participation of the Colombian Olympic Committee

The participation of the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC) in GAT Esports Academy marks a significant moment for Esports in the country. Ciro Solano Hurtado, President of the COC, will be present to offer a special greeting during the opening of the event, highlighting the interest and support of the organization towards the integration of electronic sports in the national and international sports arena.

Recognition of José Aníbal Aguirre by the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia

After the installation, a brief ceremony will take place, in response to the request of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Representatives of the Congress of the Republic, to present José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT, with the award of the Order of Democracy Simón Bolívar, by Representative Mauricio Parodi, in celebration of his 25 years building an integrative network of friends and allies in the legal gaming industry with the support of Asojuegos, Fecoljuegos, Cornazar and Fedelco, generating a climate of confidence for investors and exhibitors of multinationals, in Colombia and other Latin American countries.

Esports Bill

The Representative to the House, Mauricio Parodi, will be in charge of opening the day with the presentation as co-author and promoter of the current Bill, which seeks to officially recognize electronic sports (Esports) as one of the ways in which sport is developed in Colombia, including them within the National Sports System of the country.

Featured Panel: "Esports as an Olympic Sport"

One of the most anticipated sessions of the morning will be the panel titled "Esports as an Olympic Sport." This discussion will address the challenges, the current situation and the regulatory advances surrounding the recognition of Esports as an Olympic discipline. Moderated by Jorge Karam, Vice-Chancellor for Research at the Corporación Universitaria de Cataluña and Academic Director of the event, the panel will feature the participation of prominent jurists and advisors such as Francisco Cañón from the Ministry of Sport, Daniela Cañizares and José Alejandro Sierra from Brigard Urrutia, Félix Burgos, from the Presidency of the COC, and Jorge Franco, Treasurer of the Colombian Olympic Committee. The discussion will present a complete vision of crucial issues that the ecosystem will have to define in the short and medium term.

Daniel Arias, BetPlay Online Manager, will refer in his conference to betting and Esports. Next, José Aníbal Aguirre, organizer of the event and representative of Mobadoo, a company that develops cutting-edge software with artificial intelligence, will be in charge of the introduction to the presentation and demo of the Frente de Batalla game that will be made by his marketing team and that will soon debut on the BetPlay platform.
