“Our main business is the lottery system, however we also do the whole cabinet. We create the whole hardware product for lottery machines, for sports betting, also for VLTs,” said Lyndon Ngo.

This show is very new, most of the companies here are selling their software, however, we are also introducing a sportsbetting product in this country. Sportsbetting is a mature activity in Europe, but it is very new for the United States,” he added.

He then gave his opinion about the inaugural edition. “I was very surprised. This is a very small show but you can see a lot of people. I think it is because this will be probably the first gaming show in the United States and everybody is looking for a solution there.”

When asked about the current situation of the US market, he pointed: “It is a huge market and the government is approving sportsbetting in many states; they want to legalize it and I think it is because they want to collect taxes, and it’s good for everyone. They just need the correct platform, a correct product.”

Ngo was also consulted about the expectations and goals before coming to the show:  “Actually, I did not expect anything, but for this first day, we received a lot of people and also several customers visited us with very serious inquiries. I think I’m expecting a lot but this is our first year; probably the next two years will be very important.”

He then added: “We are participating here because this it is the first-of-a-kind show in the United States and also because a lot of states are legalizing sportsbooks. I think it is a good opportunity to come to this show, meet new people, meet new developers that want to develop something for this market.

Besides, he analyzed differences of profiles between the European player and the North American player. “Let me give you the example of our customers in Europe. They don’t just bet on European games, they also bet in games around the world. So I think, at the US, it will depend on how fast they will develop online games. But I think sportsbetting is very important. People will have lots of choices. You might live in the US, but you like football, but football in the US is different than in Europe, and in Central America is different, too.”

Next shows for iBase Gaming are G2E Macau and G2E Las Vegas.
