(Pittsburgh).- Pennsylvania is one of the most sophisticated, diverse and important gaming states in the nation. So it only makes sense that some of the state’s top regulatory and political leaders will talk about the lessons they have learned at the NCLGS Summer Meeting in Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania Government Officials to Kick Off NCLGS Summer Meeting

Pennsylvania’s gaming industry includes everything from brick-and-mortar facilities to a vibrant horse racing industry to iGaming to online and retail lottery and even distributed gaming.

The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) Summer Meeting will be held at Rivers Casino from July 17-20.

The general session – titled Welcome to Pennsylvania! – will be chaired by Delegate Shawn Fluharty of West Virginia, who is the NCLGS President. Panelists will include:

  • Patrick Browne, Secretary of Revenue, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue
  • State Senator Jay Costa, Pennsylvania
  • Kevin O’Toole, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
  • Drew Svitko, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Lottery

The NCLGS semiannual meetings attract state legislators as well as regulators, gaming operators and suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists, media, and other stakeholders to discuss all aspects of regulated gaming. The meetings help state legislators from across the country establish sound, effective gaming policies.

You can view the NCLGS agenda and committee content for the Summer Meeting on the NCLGS website. Early-bird registration rates are in effect until May 15. Additionally, a hotel group room block is available at The Landing Hotel, which is connected to Rivers Casino. Attendees are strongly encouraged to book early to secure their accommodation because space is limited and will sell out fast.

NCLGS meetings are the only conferences in the United States that focus on the goals and plans of legislative decision-makers. The meetings are also open to the public. Click here to register.

Founded more than a quarter-century ago, NCLGS is the only organization of state lawmakers that meets on a regular basis to discuss issues related to gaming. NCLGS neither promotes nor opposes gaming but is focused on proper regulation and promoting best practices in the governance of this important industry.
