(London, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Yesterday, it was held a networking event for Latin America within SBG Digital Summit, webinar with product exhibitions and services, conferences and networking for the gambling sector, which is taking place this week and concludes May 1st.
The event was attended by important executives from gaming companies, organizations and representatives of the sector, from different countries in Latin America and Spain. The moderation was in charge of Macarena Rodicio, Editor at SBC Noticias.
These are some of the concepts that were presented in relation to how the pandemic is affecting the sector, the measures being taken in different countries, the market reaction, online gambling and regulations, among other issues.
Gonzalo Pérez, CEO & Partner in Apuesta Total, Peru: "Considering the learning curve and the attachment it takes to have an employee, you definitely have to try to see how to keep it," he said, agreeing with Fernando Garita, Gaming Consultant, Head of Business Development LATAM, Betcris: "Companies have to try to Sustaining employees. Some of us who have already been working online, we have some advantage, but we have cut our live sports activity. As employers and teams, we have to see how to cope with that. Companies have to adapt. In our case, We were already working in our homes a few days before the social distancing. Remote work is definitely going to be a challenge for all companies, how to divide the spaces and times with the family and others, "he added.
Besides Karen Sierra, Director, Government Relations and Business Development, LatAm and Caribbean, was disappointed by the new government regulations in Peru regarding the current pandemic. "Peru is a model of regulation in many ways; we cannot believe that the gaming industry is being treated in this way. It is strong to see that the industry is affected and for being games of chance they are not given state aid." On the other hand, she spoke about the importance of thinking about cashless as a solution to the cash-handling problem.
Besides, Evert Montero Cárdenas, President of FECOLJUEGOS, commented. "We have to look at the entire industry. The localized ones, at least in Colombia, are generating 61% of the resources for health. There are many possibilities of offering online bonds to strengthen the entire market. We must take initiatives to also strengthen the experiential experience. This is a time when you have to be generous and creative."
Fernando Garita highlighted: "I lived the product online in Latin America years ago. In some cases we have to teach clients, to identify which modality they prefer, etc. After the covid, banking access will take on a more important role. the means of payment, the multiple currencies. This is going to change definitively in a new way of communicating. It is a kind of networking without borders, by having virtual events. We must continue collaborating with everyone. "
Gonzalo Perez, CEO & Partner de Apuesta Total, remarked the issues regarding advertising. "It is essential for us, but you have to be very careful in these moments in society. But something has to be done, you have to find a way."
Subsequently, Montero Cárdenas spoke of what he calls the "illegality pandemic": "It hurts to see the efforts of legal companies, and that illegal platforms continue to have activity. That cannot be allowed to continue. They take advantage of this time of the pandemic" , and Karen Sierra added: "That's right, they take advantage of the pandemic to have more aggressive tactics of reaching customers. In Spain, they are the same customers who are reporting it."
