The summit, which runs until tomorrow at Centro Banamex, brings together operators, technology providers, investors, and institutional representatives from various markets. The SoloAzar team is on the ground in Mexico City to cover the event's activities.
Mexico Drives the Conversation on Regulation and Investment
Presented by Caliente Interactive and supported by AIEJA, SiGMA North America gathers gaming industry representatives, tech companies, investors, institutional bodies, and international organizations in Mexico City, set against the backdrop of an expanding Mexican digital economy.
The agenda places special emphasis on the sector's regulatory future. Key topics of debate include transparency, taxation, consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and strategies to combat unlicensed operators.
The opening ceremony will take place today, September 2, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, featuring the expected participation of representatives from the Mexican Senate and other political figures.
The event will continue tomorrow, September 3, wrapping up a program designed to broaden the dialogue between the Mexican industry and key international players in the digital ecosystem.

Event Expected to Generate 220 Million in Economic Activity
Beyond its impact on the gaming industry, SiGMA North America arrives in Mexico with significant economic projections.
According to the Economic Impact Assessment prepared for SiGMA North America 2026, organizers estimate that the inaugural edition will generate around 220 million pesos in direct spending during 2026.
This estimate accounts for consumption related to hotels, food and beverages, transportation, entertainment, venue rental, and exhibition infrastructure.
Of that total, approximately 48.5 million pesos will go toward venue rental and booth construction provided by local suppliers.
According to the organizers' projections, the direct economic impact could reach between 315 and 390 million pesos by 2030, equivalent to approximately 14.5 to 18 million euros.
These figures are considered conservative, as the calculation does not include indirect and induced effects on the economy, nor the potential impact on gross value added and employment.
4,000 Delegates and 12,600 Hotel Nights
For this first edition, organizers expect an attendance of approximately 4,000 delegates.
The assessment also projects around 12,600 hotel nights during 2026, associated with an estimated spending of 90 million pesos on accommodation.
These figures reflect the impact the event aims to generate, not only within the gaming ecosystem but also in sectors related to business tourism and local services.
Mexico Gains Clout in the North American Digital Market
The selection of Mexico City as the host city comes as the country solidifies its position within the North American digital ecosystem.
According to the SiGMA North America Market Report 2026, prepared for the organizers based on Blask data collected between July 2025 and June 2026, Mexico ranks third among the analyzed North American markets for estimated monthly online gaming revenue, trailing only the United States and Canada.
In December 2025, the Mexican market reached an estimated peak of approximately US$227.1 million in monthly revenue, according to data cited in the report.
During that same period, the Blask aggregate index, which measures user interest in online gaming brands, reached approximately 9.49 million, before stabilizing at still-solid levels in the following months.
The figures presented by the organizers reflect an expanding market, but they also pose the challenge of developing a regulatory framework capable of transforming digital demand into sustainable growth, investment, and higher levels of consumer protection.

Artificial Intelligence and Fintech Broaden the Agenda
Artificial intelligence takes center stage in the SiGMA North America 2026 programming. The event analyzes its impact on data analysis, automation, risk management, regulatory compliance, and consumer protection.
In the Mexican context, this debate takes on special relevance due to the simultaneous evolution of technology and the regulatory framework.
The discussion addresses not only the current applications of AI but also the conditions necessary to ensure its use is transparent, responsible, and sustainable.
Furthermore, the Economic Impact Assessment identifies international collaboration and knowledge transfer as strategic priorities of the gathering.
An Agenda That Goes Beyond Online Gaming
With this approach, SiGMA North America broadens its focus beyond gambling to incorporate other segments of the digital economy.
The programming includes content related to fintech, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital payments, cybersecurity, eSports, and online entertainment, fostering exchange between industries that share technologies, infrastructures, and regulatory challenges.
Scheduled sessions include debates on the role of international operators in the Mexican iGaming market, regulatory differences between Europe and Latin America, challenges for importing gaming machines into Mexico, and crisis management within the sector.
