SPiCE Philippines 2022 - Day One Recap
⏱ 2 min read
(Philippines).- SPiCE Philippines 2022 began as excited attendees arrived and enjoyed coffee and casual networking before the proceedings got underway.
An Opening Address from Yudi Soetjiptadi, Managing Director of Eventus International kickstarted the conference, followed by the opening remarks from the Chairperson, Carmina Agnes Racaza, the General Manager of Nooyoo Digital.
The first-panel discussion of the day, made up of regulators and operators and moderated by Harmen Brenninkmeijer, Chief Executive Officer of NYCE International Ltd, looked at the potential of overregulation killing the interest of current or potential gaming investors, and how the regulators support the growth of licensed operators.
A networking tea break was followed by the next two panel discussions that looked at IRs in the Philippines and the future of land-based and the matter of channelisation respectively. Chairperson Carmina Racaza moderated the first discussion and Joe Pisano, Founder and CEO of Jade Group of Companies, moderated the second.
A networking lunch break was preceded by a presentation discussing how to securely grow your business with bigger pay-outs and an exciting lottery draw, hosted by Frank Herold, a Member of the Board at EMIRAT AG, where an amazing USD 25 000 prize was up for grabs! The winner managed to secure a USD80 prize.
As the day drew to a close, another two enticing panel discussions took place. The first, moderated by Chairperson, Carmina Racaza, examined how to leverage employer branding and also achieve effective and successful hiring. The final discussion explored the topic of keeping up with DDoS attack trends in the gaming sector. Harmen Brenninkmeijer moderated his second discussion of the day.
Chairperson, Carmina Racaza, ended Day One with her closing remarks before attendees moved on to the SPiCE It Up Networking Function, sponsored by EI Networking.
Day One was highly successful and informative.
As Chairperson Carmina Racaza put it: “Collaboration and accountability are key - between all stakeholders. The full financial benefits and technology advancements that gaming and sports betting can provide any country or government remain not fully leveraged, especially in the Philippines. SPiCE Philippines brings so much value to this space with gatherings like this. There’s so much more in store on the second day! It’s not too late.”
