"The Colombian market has a lot of potential"
⏱ 2 min read
(Colombia, SoloAzar Exclusive) .- Stefano Volo, Director of Virtual Generation, a Maltese company, spoke exclusively with SoloAzar during the company's first participation in FADJA.
Is it the first time that you participate in FADJA?
Yes, it is the first time. We are hoping to have many contacts in Colombia. As we are going to certify our product here, we want to start making our name known here in Colombia, but we are also looking for contacts outside Colombia, throughout Latin America, such as Peru, Argentina, Mexico, and I have to say that especially today we find good contacts.
How is the product that you develop?
We are focused on the development of virtual betting platforms. Virtual bets are quite well known in Europe, but I learned that here in Latin America they do not know each other very well. These are bets on events that do not really take place, which are simulations of real events. In this, the virtual bet of the real sports bet is different. In particular, our products include greyhound racing, horse racing, virtual football, number games such as keno, which is similar to bingo, American roulette and for a long time we have also developed a product specifically for Latin America. It's the cockfight. Especially with this last product, this year we had incredible success, all the time, during these last two days of the show, we had questions about this product. On how customers can have these products. That's why we are very happy with the results.
How do you see the Colombian market?
The Colombian market has a lot of potential without doubts. I know from sports betting that there is a very large market, and above all there is a market that is being regulated, which is always important, because unregulated markets can be attractive, but they can also be dangerous for both customers and operators, who work in a situation in which the competition has no rules of any kind. So we are very happy to know that Colombia is moving to regulate the market in an effective way. We already know the rules that exist for the physical betting market. They are quite strict rules, but we must say that they make sense since we had GLI certification, of the random number generator for Colombia. We are also applying for the certifications that we are missing and we are waiting for the law on online gambling to finally arrive so that we can apply and we can start selling our product here in Colombia.
In which markets does Virtual Generation currently operate?
Este año, en Latinoamérica, sólo participamos en FADJA. Pero sabemos que nuestros vendedores aquí en Latinoamérica van a participar en las demás ferias, por ejemplo en Perú, en Argentina, y que van a presentar también nuestros productos.
