(Miami).- This week, The Gaming Board for The Bahamas shared with CGS Group valuable information on behalf of the Caribbean Regulators Forum to be held on May 2, 3 and 4. The important development of the “Gaming Houses” in the Bahamas

How big is the Operation of Land Based Casinos in The Bahamas and why is it attractive to invest? Are Casino licenses open for foreign investors or should they have a joint venture partnership with local investors?

The operation of land-based casinos in the Bahamas is quite large, taking into account the number of gaming tables, slots and Sports Books. Among the most outstanding, 79 tables and 541 slots in the Atlantis, 132 tables and 1015 slots in the Baha Mar, and both casinos have 6 active sports books. There are licenses for Casino Games available but they are not authorized for foreign investors since they need a joint venture association to invest in the Bahamas.

What are the Gaming Houses? Are these licenses open for foreign investors?

Gaming Houses are physical locations dedicated to gambling, where local players can interact with online gaming platforms. There are 298 game houses in the Bahamas operated by 7 different companies and they are willing to issue more licenses for game houses only if there is a joint venture association. These licenses are not open to foreign investors, but are only issued to companies that are fully owned by citizens of the Bahamas.

There are 39 suppliers in the Bahamas, among the most prominent are; Konami Gaming Inc, Evolution, Caleta Holdings Limited, Pragmatic Play Limited, Novomatic Americas, Every Matrix Software, Multislot Limited, Aristocrat Technologies, International Game Technology, Ainsworth Game Technology, among others.
