“We showed the new DIAMOND X™ 2.32 cabinet”: Katty Lopez, Novomatic Peru

What novelties has the firm presented at the recent PGS show?

First of all, we had an exciting product premiere in Lima! For the first time in Latin America – and for the first time across the entire continent – we showed the new DIAMOND X™ 2.32 cabinet. And it was very well received. We presented this new machine with the new Linked Progressive mix NOVO LINE CASH CONNECTION™ Edition 3 – with a great diversity of game themes across its 13 LOCK 'N' WIN titles.

The IMPERA LINK™ with its 30 linked titles was also a total success. This internationally very popular Linked Jackpot multi-game was on display in a banked package featuring the renowned FUNMASTER 2.27 cabinet as well as LED jackpot signage and spacers, which drew great interest. It was very gratifying to hear the operators’ very positive feedback on these new products.

But we also had a broad variety of other gaming products on our booth, such as the proven PANTHERA™ cabinets with the LUCKY TWIST™ Link, NOVO LINE™ Interactive Concurve Edition 5 as well as Editions X1 and X2 and the MONEY PARTY™ Link, which continues to deliver excellent results in LatAm casinos, and of course the modular myACP Casino Management System.

How have you experienced the show? What have been the highlights?

The highlights were definitely the personal encounters at the show. It was such a relief to finally be able to meet in person again at an industry event to catch up with customers, partners and friends and to do business again in a physical face-to-face setting. We made sure to have representatives from all over Latin America in Lima, thus ensuring that every customer would have a go-to contact from his local country unit – and of course, that means that there were many happy reunions at our booth. It was not only a good show – it was a great show, where the excitement of visitors and exhibitors was evident throughout the event.

Apart from the emotional aspect, it was certainly a highly successful show in terms of business. PGS was the perfect opportunity to introduce our new generation of NOVOMATIC products that will help operators in the region boost their business. Their reaction and feedback to our products absolutely confirm our product strategy.

What is the position of the company in the Peruvian market and what are its goals in the country for the rest of the year?

NOVOMATIC pays close attention to the Latin American markets and works hard to deliver solutions that meet the player preferences as well as the operator needs in each region. NOVOMATIC is always actively working to keep the leading position in the market, and for this reason being part of PGS 2022 and showing the latest innovations and products offered for the country was really important.

We have been accompanying our customers throughout the crisis and we are now committed to supporting them in their recovery. Especially now, with all the challenges that the markets had to overcome due to the pandemic, it is even more important to provide gaming products that not only meet these needs but also deliver some extra value and excitement. We therefore need to provide the premium products that we are well known for as well as a product offering that guarantees a good entertainment offer at a relatively low cost.

How do you think a new online gaming regulation would impact the activity of the company and the gaming sector in general?

We have seen in many other markets, internationally as well as in Latin America, that a well-regulated online offer can perfectly complement a well-regulated land-based offer. There are two points that I would like to stress here: One is the term “well-regulated”, which means that, whether the business is land-based or online, it has to be based on a sound and fair regulatory framework.

The other point is the important topic of cross-conversion: Online and land-based offers can ideally nurture each other. Each has its own strengths and advantages for players and operators alike. Aspects like mobile availability versus the social experience on the player side have been discussed at length and for operators, considerations like a 360° customer journey and the single wallet come to mind.

NOVOMATIC is in the very lucky position to boast extensive experience not only in the land-based sector, but also to have an international key supplier to the online sector as part of the Group through its online unit Greentube. We can therefore react very quickly to changing regulatory circumstances and be in first line to offer a fully-fledged 360° gaming offer.
