World Gaming and African iGaming Alliance Launch Africa Summit at iGB L!VE 2026

Strategic Partnership Aims to Support Africa’s Gaming Industry

The African iGaming Alliance and World Gaming have announced a strategic partnership focused on promoting the development of sustainable and well-regulated gaming markets throughout Africa.

As the first major initiative under the agreement, the organizations will launch the Africa Summit at iGB L!VE 2026, scheduled for 1 July in London. The summit is designed to bring together African regulators, international operators, suppliers and key industry stakeholders to discuss market development, regulatory frameworks, investment opportunities and long-term growth strategies across the continent.

Africa Summit to Highlight Regulatory and Commercial Opportunities

Sponsored by SmartSoft Gaming, the Africa Summit will provide attendees with direct insights into the regulatory priorities, commercial prospects and evolving market dynamics shaping Africa’s gaming landscape.

The event aims to foster collaboration between regulators and private-sector stakeholders while helping international companies better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with entering African markets.

African iGaming Alliance Emphasizes Global Industry Participation

According to Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe, former gambling regulator of Botswana and CEO of the African iGaming Alliance, the partnership will help ensure that African markets play a more influential role in the global gaming industry.

He described Africa as one of the most dynamic and strategically significant regions in gaming, adding that the initiative will create a platform for knowledge sharing, practical collaboration and sustainable market growth.

Kesitilwe noted that the Africa Summit represents the first tangible outcome of the partnership and is intended to strengthen dialogue between regulators, policymakers and industry leaders from across the continent.

World Gaming Sees Strong Growth Potential Across Africa

Stuart Hunter, Managing Director of World Gaming, said the partnership reflects the company's commitment to supporting operators and suppliers seeking to expand into high-growth jurisdictions.

Hunter highlighted Africa as one of the most promising regions for future gaming industry expansion, emphasizing that successful market entry requires a strong understanding of local regulations, consumer behavior and trusted regional partnerships.

He added that the summit has been designed to provide delegates with practical insights and direct access to key decision-makers operating within African gaming markets.

Agenda to Address Regulation, Innovation and Responsible Gaming

The Africa Summit programme will cover a broad range of topics critical to the industry's future, including:

  • Regulatory cooperation and policy development
  • Sustainable growth through industry best practices
  • Taxation and market competitiveness
  • Localisation of global gaming products
  • Sports betting trends
  • Responsible gaming and player protection
  • Integrity and anti-money laundering (AML) measures

  • Customer acquisition strategies

In addition, the event will feature regional roundtable discussions dedicated to developments in West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa.

Additional details regarding the full summit agenda are expected to be released later this month.

The Africa Summit will take place as part of iGB L!VE 2026, which is scheduled for 1–2 July in London, providing a dedicated forum for stakeholders looking to engage with one of the fastest-growing regions in the global gaming industry.
