Macau GGR declines 1.2% in September
Macau’s gaming revenue fell 1.2% year-on-year to MOP 18.06 billion in September, according to monthly figures released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The result marked the fourth consecutive month of decline for the market.
September’s GGR also came below analysts’ expectations. Market projections had pointed to a 2.2% increase for the month.
On a month-on-month basis, the decline was more pronounced, with gaming revenue falling 17.5% from August.
September extends recent downward trend
The September figures continue a period of weaker monthly performance for Macau’s casino sector, with GGR declining for four consecutive months.
Despite the recent slowdown, the market remains ahead on a cumulative basis during the first three quarters of the year.
Macau gaming revenue remains higher year to date
Between January and September, Macau’s accumulated GGR reached MOP 187.1 billion, representing a 3.2% increase compared with the same period of the previous year.
The cumulative figure indicates that, despite the recent monthly declines, Macau’s casino industry has maintained year-to-date growth through the first nine months of 2026.
The latest figures from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau provide the official benchmark for the performance of Macau’s gaming market as operators enter the final quarter of the year.
