Nebraska Gaming Tax Revenue Drops 8.1% in June

(Lincoln, Nebraska) Nebraska's regulated casino sector reported lower gaming tax collections in June, with statewide receipts declining 8.1% compared to the previous month. According to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, the decrease was reflected across several casino properties, including WarHorse Casino Lincoln, while the state's casinos have still generated nearly USD 31.9 million in gaming tax revenue during the first half of 2026.
Nebraska Casino Gaming Tax Receipts Decline in June
The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission reported USD 4.98 million in statewide gaming tax receipts for June 2026, down from approximately USD 5.42 million collected in May, representing a monthly decrease of 8.1%.
The latest figures indicate a slowdown in gaming tax revenue after stronger collections recorded during previous months, although the market continues to post solid year-to-date results.
WarHorse Casino Lincoln Records Largest Monthly Decline
Gaming Tax Revenue Falls Nearly 14%
WarHorse Casino Lincoln generated approximately USD 1.4 million in gaming tax revenue during June, marking a 13.8% decline compared to the more than USD 1.62 million reported in May.
Under Nebraska's gaming tax distribution model, Lincoln and Lancaster County will each receive USD 174,781 from the property's June tax collections.
Additionally, nearly USD 979,000 will be allocated to Nebraska's Property Tax Credit Cash Fund, while both the State General Fund and the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund will each receive approximately USD 35,000.
WarHorse Omaha Remains Nebraska's Top Gaming Tax Contributor
Casino Performance Across the State
Among Nebraska's licensed casinos, WarHorse Casino Omaha generated the highest gaming tax revenue in June, contributing approximately USD 1.94 million.
Other licensed casino properties reported the following gaming tax receipts:
- Grand Island Casino and Resort: approximately USD 993,000
- Columbus casino: approximately USD 403,000
- Ogallala casino: approximately USD 241,000
The figures illustrate the current distribution of gaming tax revenue across Nebraska's expanding regulated casino market.
2026 Gaming Tax Revenue Approaches USD 32 Million
Despite the June decline, Nebraska's casino industry has continued to generate significant tax revenue throughout 2026.
According to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, licensed casinos have produced nearly USD 31.9 million in gaming tax receipts during the first six months of the year.
