Tax contribution of gaming casinos authorized by Law No. 19,995 reaches $ 16,788 million in September 2023

(Santiago).- The collection is distributed in $7,293 million paid by the 19,995 casinos to the communes and regional governments in which they are located, $7,045 million in VAT on gaming and $2,451 million in ticket tax.
The 25 gaming casinos operating in the country recorded gross gaming revenue (win) of $47,506 million in September 2023, which, in real terms, was 0.8% higher than those obtained in September 2022.
Taxes collected
The 22 casinos 19,995[1] contributed a total of $16,788 million in taxes in the month of September, increasing the taxes contributed in September 2022 by 3.9% in real terms.
The aggregated amounts at the industry level are divided into $7,293 million that correspond to the specific gaming tax, destined to regional governments and municipalities for the financing of development works, in addition to $7,045 million associated with the payment of VAT on gaming income and $2,451 million corresponding to the tax on entry to gambling halls, which goes to the nation's general funds.
Regional governments and municipalities receive the funds from the specific gaming tax the month following their payment by the operating companies. Therefore, these resources will be received in December 2023.
The distribution of taxes collected by the operation for the month of August 2023 is shown in the following table:

Revenue and visits
The 25 gaming casinos operating in the country recorded gross gaming revenue (win) of $47,506 million in September 2023, which, in real terms, was 0.8% higher than those obtained in September 2022.
Regarding visits, 583,005 people were registered who entered the 25 casinos in operation, which is equivalent to an increase of 10% compared to September 2022.
In addition, during September an average expense of $79,977 per visit was recorded, which implies a decrease in real terms of 9% compared to September 2022.
