Danish Gambling Authority Releases New Guidelines to Prevent and Tackle Match-Fixing

The Danish Gambling Authority has released official guidance on the prevention and combating of match-fixing, outlining the obligations for licence holders under the Executive Order, which will come into force on July 1, 2025.

Industry Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement

Before publication, the guidance was sent for consultation with licence holders and the Spillebranchen (Danish Online Gambling Association). The Danish Gambling Authority has expressed appreciation for the feedback received during the consultation process, reinforcing the collaborative effort to strengthen integrity in sports betting.

This Executive Order forms a crucial part of the political initiative "Agreement on a New Framework for the Gambling Market #2: Charity Lotteries and Strengthened Control", designed to enhance regulatory oversight and promote fair gaming practices across Denmark.

To ensure accessibility, the guidance is available in both Danish and English, allowing international operators and stakeholders to fully comply with the new regulatory standards.

Notification Guidelines for Licence Holders

In addition to its main match-fixing prevention guidelines, the Danish Gambling Authority has also published separate guidance addressing notification requirements under the Executive Order. This document explains:

  • How licence holders must notify authorities about potential match-fixing cases
  • What documentation must be provided

A full English version of this notification guidance will be published soon, further supporting operators in maintaining compliance with the updated regulations.
