(Copenhagen).- Danes’ gambling spend rose in July 2026 compared with the same month last year, according to the latest monthly statistics from the Danish Gambling Authority. The online casino market in particular saw a notable increase.
Online Casino and Betting Lead Growth
Gambling spend in Denmark rose 17.2% year-on-year in July 2026, according to the latest monthly statistics from the Danish Gambling Authority.
Online segments were the main drivers of the increase. Online casino spending climbed 22.0%, while betting grew 21.3% compared with July 2025.
The figures highlight continued momentum for Denmark’s digital gambling market, with both major online verticals posting growth of more than 20% over the same period last year.
Land-Based Gambling Records Mixed Results
The performance of land-based gambling was more subdued during the month.
Slot machine spending declined by 0.1%, while land-based bingo fell 7.9% year-on-year. Land-based casinos also recorded a decrease, with spending down 4.0% compared with July 2025.
The contrasting results underline the stronger performance of online gambling compared with several traditional land-based segments.
New GDP-Adjusted Statistics Introduced
The Danish Gambling Authority has also introduced a new filter in its monthly statistics, allowing users to view figures adjusted for Denmark’s gross domestic product (GDP).
The adjusted figures are calculated using the economic level of the current year. For 2026, for example, the calculations are based on the 2026 level outlined in the Ministry of Taxation and Economic Growth’s latest Economic Survey.
When comparing different years, the statistics will use adjusted figures based on the current year’s economic level.
Nominal Figures Remain Available
Despite the introduction of the new adjustment feature, users can still access gambling figures at their nominal level through the monthly statistics.
The additional filter is intended to provide another way of assessing changes in gambling spend while taking broader economic developments into account.
