(Buenos Aires).- Gaming Laboratories International has unveiled the draft GLI-33 v2.0 standard for event betting systems, opening a key consultation period for industry regulators.

GLI, associate member of Cibelae presents the updated draft of the GLI-33 standard

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), an associate member of Cibelae, announced the release of the draft of its updated technical standard GLI-33 v2.0: Standards for Event Betting Systems. The document is available in a first phase aimed at receiving comments and feedback from the regulatory authorities of the gaming industry, before its subsequent publication for general public consultation.

The update incorporates the latest technological trends

The update of the GLI-33 v2.0 standard responds to the need to incorporate the technical requirements demanded by the latest technological trends in the betting sector. As explained by the organization, the modifications seek greater alignment with other frameworks of GLI's family of technical standards and with global industry best practices.

The regulatory changes were designed to improve the clarity and consistency of requirements, so a smooth and uninterrupted transition is expected for the industry.

The comment period will be open until July 31

The advance copy of the draft is provided on a priority basis to regulators for review and analysis. The formal period for submitting comments began with the publication of this notice and will run through July 31, 2026.

This call represents a key opportunity for state lotteries and regulatory bodies in Ibero-America to contribute their technical perspective in the construction of the new standard.

GLI makes supplemental documentation available

To facilitate the evaluation process, GLI made available on its website an Executive Summary of the Changes compared to the previous version (GLI-33 v1.1), a detailed comparative table of the versions, and the corresponding worksheet for comments: gaminglabs.com/gli-standards-and-security-framework-released-for-public-comment..

Industry will be able to submit comments and suggestions

Supervisory authorities and interested parties may channel their observations in writing through the GLI-33 v2.0 comment form, which must be sent by email to the entity's compliance box (Compliance@gaminglabs.com).

The laboratory will process the suggestions received and will actively collaborate with interested parties to resolve doubts related to the interpretation and evaluation of the standard.

A technical reference with global reach

GLI's series of standards is an international technical reference that is constantly updated thanks to the joint work of thousands of participants in the gaming industry. These guidelines function as base guides that regulators in each jurisdiction can voluntarily adopt and adapt to their own regulatory frameworks.

They also represent a tool of great value for technology providers, who use them as a design and development manual, optimizing production times and costs.
