(Lima).- Andrés Choy, president of the Association of Winemakers of Peru, said that there are more than 500,000 winemakers nationwide who would be harmed if the regulation is not pre-published to publicize the characteristics of the 700 observations collected.
The Association of Winemakers of Peru requested the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Juan Carlos Mathews, to have the pre-publication of the regulation of the new law that regulates online sports betting and games, with the purpose of knowing if the observations raised by your institution have been collected in a timely manner.
“Nobody knows the 700 observations made by the different actors who depend on this activity that have been received and, above all, how they have been interpreted and raised. Because a comma in a regulation can totally change the meaning of a norm”, commented Andrés Choy, president of the aforementioned association.
In this sense, he noted that "due to a matter of transparency of the public administration, the regulation must be pre-published in order to have the opportunity to learn about it and, above all, alert the Mincetur so that it can correct harmful aspects that may be included in said regulation."
He remarked that one of the points addressed by his association is that winemakers can have a space to sell sports bets remotely and thus survive the current crisis.
“What we want to avoid is causing irreparable damage to the thousands of workers who would be left without a job because we would be left without a small additional income that allows us to survive. Social cost where the Mincetur would be the only one responsible ”, warned the leader.
Choy points out that there are more than 500,000 winemakers nationwide who would be harmed if the regulation is not pre-published to make known which of the 700 observations have been collected.
"Above all, we want to know how the articles corrected by the new law 31806 have been regulated, such as the exclusive use of the environment for the sale of sports bets and the installation of cameras and DVRs in the warehouses, payment of guarantees, among others," he said.
On June 28, the Executive Power promulgated Law No. 31806 that requires foreign companies engaged in this activity to pay taxes in our country.
