(Bristol).- A joint operation involving local police, the Gambling Commission and the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit led to the closure of an alleged illegal gambling venue and the arrest of two suspects.
Joint operation targets suspected illegal casino
Two people have been arrested following an investigation into an alleged illegal casino operating in Bristol, England.
Officers from the Harbourside Neighbourhood Policing Team, working alongside the Gambling Commission and the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU), executed a search warrant at a property on Lower College Street on July 10 as part of an ongoing investigation.
Two suspects released on bail
During the operation, police arrested a 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of gambling-related offences.
Both suspects have since been released on bail while investigations continue.
Police highlight importance of community intelligence
Sergeant Michael Friis emphasized the role of public cooperation in tackling illegal gambling and other forms of criminal activity.
"Community intelligence plays a vital role in tackling criminal activity and keeping our neighbourhoods safe," Friis said.
He also encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious or illegal activity, stressing that information provided by the public is essential in supporting ongoing enforcement efforts and protecting local communities.
