Argentina: bet.ar domain to identify authorized online gaming platforms

(Argentina).- With the aim to contribute to the identification of the legal online gaming offer, the registries of pages and platforms of the entire country enabled by the regulatory bodies of each jurisdiction will be unified.
This way, just the websites whose domains end with "bet.ar" will be approved for virtual betting.
It is established in Resolution 42/2019 and Provision 68/2019, approved by the Legal and Technical Secretariat of the Nation through the National Directorate of the Registry of Internet Domains, by which a special zone is created on the Internet that will allow the official lotteries to register domain names.
This information is extremely useful both for the betting public, who will be able to clearly identify the authorized internet pages, and for state lotteries that have been making a great effort to combat illegal gambling, which has increased widely in the current context of pandemic.
In addition, it represents a great advance in the regulation of online gambling in the country.
Rio Negro Lottery will start with the administrative steps to incorporate the domain “bet.ar” in the digital platform of Casino del Río, the only online gaming offer authorized in the Argentinian province.
