(Pennsyvania).- Pennsylvania’s digital casino space just got bigger after FanDuel launched on Friday mobile casino-style offering in addition to its existing sports betting app. Users of the FanDuel Sportsbook app that are based in the Keystone State can now play slots and table games after the official launch of the offering this past Friday.
FanDuel was able to officially start digital casino operations after the operator received the green light from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The official launch of its mobile casino was preceded by a customary test period of two days on Wednesday and Thursday, during which state regulators checked if the new operation was fit to service local gambling customers.
The new FanDuel Casino is available across both iOS and Android phones. However, there is no desktop version of the new operation and it is not available across tablets.
FanDuel’s new Pennsylvania casino is the first to be named under the FanDuel brand and the operator’s second overall. In neighboring New Jersey, FanDuel provides digital casino offering under the Betfair brand, which it took from its parent company Flutter Entertainment.
However, the sports betting operator has gained extreme popularity in Pennsylvania since it entered the state. In fact, it is the absolute champion in terms of betting handle and revenue in the Keystone State, which could be among the reasons why it has chosen to keep the FanDuel brand for its casino offering.
Available Games
At present, the FanDuel Casino’s offering is not as rich as many would wish, but the operator will certainly expand its content library in no time, as has been the case with other companies that have gone live with digital casinos in Pennsylvania. FanDuel Casino customers are currently treated to 12 slots titles and five table games, of which two blackjack versions and three roulette versions.
NetEnt’s locally popular title Divine Fortune is among the slots games available. Last month, a Pennsylvanian player who chose to remain anonymous hit a $285,385 jackpot by playing the game with HollywoodCasino.com, the online gaming operation of casino operator Penn National Gaming.
Of the launch of the first FanDuel-branded casino, Jesse Chemtob, the operator’s Vice President for Casino, said in an emailed statement to Penn Bets that “given how well FanDuel Sportsbook has resonated with players in PA, we felt it was a natural product expansion in PA to leverage the FanDuel brand to bring our online sportsbook players a more robust online gaming offering.”
FanDuel has partnered Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia to provide sports betting and now online casino services on the territory of Pennsylvania.
FanDuel Casino joined five other online casinos currently servicing Pennsylvanian customers. Digital casino-style gambling was launched in the state in July 2019, significantly later than online sports betting offering, and was off to a slower start.
