(Switzerland).- Sportradar and the Arena Football League (AFL) announced a partnership this week, which will see the AFL receive an all-new API for automated distribution to new partners.
The AFL is about to enter its 31st season this year, having showcased a fast-paced and exciting game to millions of fans in a myriad of markets across the country since its inception in 1987.
It can now rely on a new API, which can be licensed to new partners for the automated distribution of data, with Sportradar’s AI platform for data-driven insights and zero-latency data products making it one of the premier companies in the world for sports information.
“The Arena Football league is committed to delivering a modern and engaging fan experience, and we are very pleased to be part of that commitment,” said Jason Sukhraj, SVP of Business Development, Sportradar.
“The AFL API is the first step in connecting more fans to the league and we look forward to working closely with the AFL on developing more innovative fan engagement solutions in the future.”
Alongside its partnership with Sportradar, the AFL also announced new deals with DraftKings, Facebook and VSiN in a bid to put the league at the forefront of the fan gaming experience, making for a more interactive, dynamic game experience.
“The partnerships we’re announcing today give fans a whole new range of ways to get in on the action of arena football,” said Ron Jaworski, Chairman of the AFL Executive Committee.
“Today, we’re bringing fans even closer to the game by giving them access to more data, creating more intensity in each individual moment of the game and introducing some cutting-edge gaming options.”
