March: PA Achieves Another Record in US Online Casino Revenue, Surpassing $233,1 M

For the second straight month in March,  Pennsylvania online casino operators broke a revenue record. So, The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported that operators produced a US-best $233.1 million in online casino earnings last month.

Besides, It’s the third time in four months operators generated more than $200 million.

Pennsylvania casino recorded a 28.4% year-over-year increase and an 8.3% month-over-over increase.

PlayPennsylvania Managing Editor Dave Briggs said:

“After an incredible February with an all-time online casino revenue record of more than $215 million, the fact that the March figure was $18 million higher is simply astounding. It is a testament to the power of the Pennsylvania online gambling sector and its ability to drive revenue benefitting Pennsylvanians.”

Breakdown of PA online casino March 2024 revenues

  • Online slots revenue: $177.5 million
  • Table games revenue: $53.1 million
  • Online poker revenue: $2.5 million

Quick analysis from March PA online casino figures

  • Michigan released its online gambling revenue a day earlier than Pennsylvania. The Great Lakes State reported $215.2 million, which set a state record and came within a smidge of Pennsylvania’s February record. However, knowing that the Keystone State is the market leader in iGaming, it was expected  the state would easily surpass Michigan’s March total. Pennsylvania continues to set the standard for online casino earnings in the US. At this rate, it would be surprising if Pennsylvania didn’t cross the $250 million revenue threshold at some point this year.
  • The Rivers Casino Philadelphia licensee, partnered with BetRivers, Borgata and PlaySugarHouse, surpassed $40 million in monthly profits for the first time ever. The licensee has hovered around the $35 million total over the last several months. Those three operators saw the benefits of increasing revenue in the Keystone State. Unfortunately, the PGCB told PlayPennsylvania earlier this month that it does not plan  on reporting revenue by operator, instead of by licensee. We won’t know for sure what each operators contributes to the market.
  • Pennsylvania is on pace to produce more than $2.55 billion in online casino earnings this year. In 2023, the Keystone State set a record, generating $2.11 billion in yearly proceeds. Operators have turned in $637.7 million in revenue so far this year, which is a monthly average of $212.6 million.
