(Paris).- The ARPP is the main contact for gambling operators reviewing ad projects pre-broadcast. Under strict confidentiality, it can consult the ANJ for compliance advice—a practice it has used repeatedly since their 2023 agreement.

ARPP and ANJ Renew Gambling Partnership Agreement

The ARPP serves as the primary point of contact for gambling operators regarding their commercial communication projects prior to broadcast. Within this framework—and subject to maintaining the confidentiality of the commercial communication projects submitted to it—the ARPP may consult the ANJ to share its analyses and seek its opinion whenever it has doubts regarding their compliance. It has done so on several occasions since the 2023 agreement.

Following this very positive review, a new agreement is being signed today. It maintains the same framework for sharing perspectives and exchanging information, while adding several updates linked to changes in law and advertising practices.

To this end, the new agreement provides for:

The inclusion of JONUMs (games with monetizable digital items) within the scope of the agreement;

The involvement of the ANJ to strengthen the "JAH" (gambling) module of the ARPP’s Certificate for Responsible Commercial Influence;

The ARPP's participation in the ANJ's review regarding the evolution of the four commitment charters signed in November 2022, which respectively cover gambling operator advertising on television, radio, billboards, and digital media.
