(Las Vegas).- The event that rewards the best of poker worldwide will be held in February 2022 in Las Vegas. The award ceremony will be transmitted via streaming through the PokerGO platform.
The long-awaited Global Poker Awards are back. This world-class event is held annually and honors poker players, fans, reporters and critics in more than 25 categories. The award had already been canceled twice due to sanitary restrictions. The last edition was held in 2020.
Good news for poker lovers: there is a final date for the 2021 edition prizes. Indeed, the Global Poker Awards will be held on February 18, 2022 at the PokerGO studios inside the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
The final award categories were recently announced. These categories explore different segments of the gaming industry.
For one thing, you can't miss the prizes for the best poker players from around the world, many of whom were probably started on real money online poker websites.
On the other hand, we find awards for influencers and creators of poker content (photos, videos, written content), and awards for reporters. In turn, there are awards for poker broadcast platforms: streaming, podcast, blog, among others. Allowing us to know the latest trends and quality opinions beyond the results that we usually find at the top of the Google search engine.
Cabe notar que el evento contendrá un segmento llamado The Fan Choice Awards, en donde las votaciones serán realizadas por los aficionados. En este segmento se incluye, por ejemplo, el premio a la mejor mano y el premio a la mejor personalidad del póker.
There are also prizes that are voted on between players, such as the prize for the toughest opponent.
Otherwise, the winners will be chosen by an expert panel. These juries will hear about the preliminary round of nominees in the coming weeks.
Some categories stand out in the 2021 edition:
- Best poker player GPI 2021
- Best female poker player GPI 2021
- Performance at the final table
- Best event
- Industry person
- Twitter personality
- Best podcast
- GPI Award of Merit
- Charity initiative
In total, the Global Poker Awards will feature 26 award categories. There will be a new category compared to previous events: Best Live Tournament Reporter.
The Global Poker Awards are organized by three giants of the poker industry. First, the Global Poker Index (GPI). It is the authority on live poker tournament rankings. It has more than 640,000 active users in more than 100 countries and 30,000 festivals. In turn, we have GPI's Hendon Mob Poker Database (THM), a database that currently stores the results of more than 460 thousand tournaments worldwide, and more than 3.5 million individual poker results. In this edition of the Global Poker Awards, GPI and THM will partner with PokerGO, the leading platform for broadcasting live poker events that will broadcast the event's award ceremony.
