The Macau government collected gaming taxes of MOP$94.9 billion (US$11.8 billion) in FY25, representing a 7.6% increase over the prior year according to information from the Financial Services Bureau.

This exceeded the government’s previously announced budget of MOP$93.1 billion (US$11.6 billion) for gaming duty revenue in FY25.

The final 2025 result followed a strong year for Macau’s gaming industry, which saw gross gaming revenues rise by 9.1% to MOP$247.4 billion (US$30.7 billion).

However, despite government efforts to diversify the economy, gaming taxes still comprised 82.7% of the city’s total tax revenue of MOP$114.6 billion (US$14.2 billion) for the year.

Based on latest information, gaming tax collection is also looking strong in 2026 with the government taking in MOP$16.9 billion (US$2.1 billion) in the first two months of the year combined – already reaching 18.3% of the government’s budgeted MOP$92.5 billion (US$11.5 billion).

This accounts for 90.7% of all government revenues through January and February 2026.
