The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has officially released the 20th edition of its Annual Report for Pennsylvania. Covering the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the comprehensive document provides an in-depth look at the agency’s ongoing work in regulating the Commonwealth’s dynamic and rapidly growing gaming industry.
A Year of Record Revenues and Expansive Regulation
The newly published report highlights individual revenue figures from another record-setting fiscal year across multiple gaming verticals, including slot machines, table games, sports wagering, internet gaming, fantasy sports contests, and video gaming terminals (VGTs) at eligible truck stops. Overall gaming revenue reached a historic high, generating $7.05 billion and resulting in $3.1 billion in tax revenue for the Commonwealth. Furthermore, the industry continues to be a major economic driver, supporting nearly 16,000 jobs at land-based casinos.
Since its establishment in 2004 following the passage of the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, the PGCB has grown into one of the pre-eminent gaming regulators globally. Today, the agency oversees a massive network of gaming outlets, which currently includes:
- 18 land-based casinos
- 17 retail sports wagering locations
- 11 online sports wagering sites
- 22 sites for online casino-type games (including slots, table games, and poker)
- 72 truck stop establishments with VGTs
- 7 online fantasy sports contest sites
Advancing Player Protection and Public Outreach
Beyond financial and operational statistics, the Annual Report features a detailed year-in-review from the PGCB’s key bureaus, emphasizing the board's commitment to public safety and responsible gaming. A significant focus of the 2025-2026 report is the agency's enhanced outreach efforts.
Through its social media channels, websites, and the newly launched podcast “Behind the Bets in PA,” the PGCB is actively raising public awareness on critical topics. These educational initiatives aim to address problem gambling, combat underage gambling, and warn against the severe dangers of leaving minors unattended at gaming facilities.
