Guardia Civil and Sportradar establish Sports Integrity MoU

(Spain).- In the last few years, there is a growing international concern about the participation of organised criminal groups in match fixing events in order to obtain illicit profits in online sports betting.
For this reason, the Guardia Civil, has signed today an MoU with Sportradar, world-wide leading provider of Integrity Services.
In the joint interest of protecting and maintaining integrity of sport, this MoU will improve the cooperation in investigations related to corruption and sports integrity, thanks to the exchange of experiences, statistical data, information and trends.
The Guardia Civil is a national and international reference in the fight against this kind of crimes, and has run the two most important investigations in the recent years related to match fixing in tennis. They have also been working with different entities and agencies to be able to provide a more effective response in the fight against such criminal organizations.
Currently, the Guardia Civil is present and collaborates with Interpol, Europol and UN and on national level with the Direccion General de Ordenación del Juego (Spanish Regulator), as well as different players associations, federations and companies like Sportradar.
