SBTech Bulgaria signs up World Combat Sambo Champion Marko Kosеv to head Employee Training Programme

The daily training sessions are the latest addition to the lifestyle-enhancement benefits provided to SBTech’s workforce, who also receive gym membership, additional health insurance and the option to work from home. The initiative illustrates the company’s commitment to investing in people and appreciation of its award-winning teams, which include developers, customer support agents, and designers.

Their expertise and experience are regularly showcased through SBTech’s industry achievements. In 2017 alone, the company won six prestigious awards, and recently received the In-Play Betting Software prize at the EGR B2B Awards for the third straight year.

Keeping in shape and achieving sporting success is of major importance to SBTech employees in Bulgaria, many of whom play sport at a high level, and the company has made it a significant priority. The plan also displays SBTech’s commitment to supporting former professional athletes and integrating them into the workforce.

Kosev, who won the gold medal at the World Sambo Championships in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015, teamed up with the company last month. He has designed a unique exercise programme and will lead the hour-long sessions each morning, including a combination of running and combat training.

Commenting on the importance of investing in people, Richard Carter, CEO of SBTech said: “We believe professional athletes possess many qualities that make them suitable for our company and industry. Someone like Marko, with his professional experience, sporting ethic and high level of stamina, is a powerful addition to our organisation who will help us achieve even better results.

“SBTech believes that excellence in both sport and business is key to success. This initiative also illustrates our willingness to support ex-sports professionals and provide them with new opportunities.”

Marko Kosev said: “I am delighted to take this opportunity get involved in the fitness programme at SBTech.  When I became part of the company, it quickly became clear that SBTech is 100% committed to enhancing employee wellness, so I jumped at the chance to be able to use my Combat Sambo experience to help my colleagues stay in shape and feel good. I look forward to continuing this project on a long-term basis.”
