(St. Gallen).- Global Match-Fixing Declines in 2025 as Sports Integrity Gains Ground according to Sportradar’s annual report.
International efforts to combat match-fixing continued to bear fruit in 2025, with strengthened monitoring, enforcement, and education initiatives contributing to a further reduction in suspicious activity across global sport, according toaccording to Integrity in Action 2025: Global Analysis & Trends, an annual report published by Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ: SRAD). the annual report released by Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ: SRAD).

Throughout 2025, Sportradar tracked more than 1,000,000 sporting events across 70 disciplines worldwide, identifying 1,116 matches deemed suspicious — a 1% decline compared with 2024. With over 99.5% of all monitored events free from any integrity concerns, the findings underscore the growing impact of coordinated anti-corruption measures within the global sports industry.
Europe once again recorded the highest number of suspicious matches, although the region continued its downward trend with 66 fewer cases than the previous year. South America also saw a meaningful improvement, reporting 64 fewer flagged matches compared to 2024. Meanwhile, Asia, Africa, and North and Central America experienced slight increases in suspicious activity.
Soccer remained the sport most affected by match-fixing in 2025, with 618 questionable matches detected. Basketball followed with 233 cases, while tennis (78), table tennis (65), and cricket (59) showed notable year-on-year rises. This pattern indicates that manipulation attempts are becoming more spread across different sports rather than concentrated in a single one.

A key milestone in 2025 was the further development of Sportradar’s AI-driven Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI). Leveraging machine learning alongside established monitoring processes, the system enabled real-time analysis of vast betting datasets, identifying irregular patterns that would likely have gone unnoticed using traditional methods. As a result, AI-driven match alerts increased by 56% year-on-year, highlighting the growing importance of advanced technology in detecting sophisticated manipulation tactics.
Enforcement remained a crucial pillar of integrity protection. In 2025, Sportradar supported 125 disciplinary sanctions across seven sports and all six major continents, bringing the total number of cases assisted to more than 1,000 since the program’s inception. Preventative measures also expanded significantly, with Sportradar’s Integrity Education initiatives reaching over 34,000 participants — a 25% increase compared to 2024.
Andreas Krannich, Executive Vice President of Integrity Services at Sportradar, commented: “The relative stabilisation of suspicious match figures in 2025 is a positive sign, but it also highlights the need for continued vigilance. Match-fixing remains a dynamic and evolving threat, making sustained investment in technology, intelligence, education, and collaboration essential to staying ahead of those attempting to undermine sport.”
During 2025, Sportradar provided integrity support for major global competitions, including the expanded FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Women’s EURO. Looking ahead to 2026, the company is preparing to assist partners in safeguarding the integrity of several flagship sporting events, such as the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia, the FIFA World Cup in North America, and the Olympic Winter Games in Italy.
