(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).- During the Peru Gaming Show 2026 in Lima, the transformation of the Peruvian post-pandemic market was analyzed, where the proportion of land-based and online gaming has become balanced. Max Bauer, Vice President for LATAM and the Caribbean at Novomatic; Félix Gómez, CEO of Grancot Group; and Víctor Cardoso, COO of PassBet, together with other industry leaders, participated and discussed the importance of omnichannel and regulation for the future of gaming in the region. Technology and personalized marketing are emerging as key factors to capture new generations of players.
The Peru Gaming Show (PGS) 2026, held in Lima, Peru, consolidated itself as the leading gaming industry event in the region, bringing together operators, suppliers, and regulators to discuss the future of the sector. In this edition, the convergence between land-based and online casinos was the central topic, reflecting a significant change in the Peruvian market since the pandemic.

Transformation of the Peruvian post-pandemic market
During the conference, Max Bauer, Vice President for LATAM and the Caribbean at Novomatic, highlighted that before the pandemic, 80% of gaming took place in land-based casinos, while only 20% was online. However, this balance has changed dramatically, moving close to a 50-50 split thanks to the elimination of technological barriers and the adoption of digital payment platforms such as Yappi and Blink.
“In Peru, probably pre-pandemic, 80% of gaming was concentrated in the retail, in-person channel, and 20% was online. After the pandemic, that segmentation has completely changed,” a speaker commented during the event.

Omnichannel and regulation: keys to the future
The panelists, including Félix Gómez, CEO of Grancot Group, and Víctor Cardoso, COO of PassBet, agreed that the coexistence of both segments is inevitable and beneficial. Gómez emphasized that the land-based casino experience remains irreplaceable, while online offers convenience for younger generations.
“Omnichannel is the way forward; synergy is closer than far. We have the opportunity to develop both worlds and already have very solid regulation in both aspects,” another speaker stated.
Technology and marketing: tools to attract new generations
The choice of suitable online platforms and the personalization of marketing strategies were central topics. Cardoso emphasized the importance of using the vast amount of online data to personalize and segment offers, highlighting that effective communication and customer loyalty are essential for success in this competitive market.
It was mentioned that platforms must be flexible, scalable, and customer-centered, offering a robust and secure experience. The interoperability of payment systems, such as QR code integration, facilitates the transition between physical and digital worlds, promoting a seamless user experience.

Conclusion
Experts agreed that the integration of land-based and online casinos is not only a trend but a necessity to remain competitive. The synergy between both segments, supported by strong regulation and innovative marketing strategies, is crucial to attract and retain new generations of players.
